US Airways Tweets Pornographic Image, Leaves it Up for an Hour

US Airways posted an extremely pornographic image on its Twitter account Monday.
The Internet exploded and images of the tweet and the photo made the rounds, Business Insider reported.
The photo showed a completely nude woman on her back sticking a plane into her vagina.
A customer service representative posted the message in response to a complaint filed online. It was posted online for an hour before being removed.
A representative for American Airlines, which is merging with US Airways, released the following statement. Business Insider posted the statement on its website.
"Our investigation has determined that the image was initially posted to our Twitter feed by another user. We captured the tweet to flag it as inappropriate. Unfortunately the image was inadvertently included in a response to a customer."

Associated Press is So 'Over' It

The word "over" is now acceptable to use in copy instead of "more than," The Associated Press announced last week.
"More than" had been deemed the acceptable use of indicating greater numerical value. "Over," until now, had been used to denote positioning.
“The language evolves, the usage evolves, and we’re trying to be sensitive to it,” said Associated Press editor Minthorn.
Other changes include:
"Wal-Mart" is now hyphenated.
"first aid" (noun) and first-aid (adjective)
"in vitro fertilization" (IVF is acceptable on second reference

Blind Mothers Bond Over Similar Experiences

A group of mothers in Portland, Oregon has created a special moms group. 

All of the mothers are visually impaired and have children. In an article on CNN.com they spoke about the challenges that being a visually impaired parent has when it comes to raising young children.

It is a articles like this I enjoy reading the most. They paint a picture of a person or group of people who I never gave a lot of thought to but do now. It made me care about these women and what they go though, and how they cope, on a daily basis.

Younger Social Media Users Traveling in Smaller Circles

Young social media users are moving away from having hundreds of Facebook "friends" and Twitter followers and posting more on Snapchat, Vine, and WeChat, a survey from GlobalWebIndex shows.

Use of WeChat, a Chinese mobile text and voice messaging application increased more than 1,000 percent among teenagers from the beginning of 2013, CNN.com reported.

More than half of those users, 56 percent, reported they were active users on Facebook, a 20 percent decrease from the beginning of the year.

The WSJ's Vision of the Future of Journalism in the Digital Age

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) is the only news organization to launch online with a paywall, a model the paper's managing editor said will work for the 125-year-old publication.
"The Journal is confident it is able to continue to succeed with the subscriber model," said Gerard Baker, editor-in-chief Dow Jones and Company and managing editor of The Wall Street Journal, at a presentation at City University in London yesterday.
Baker also talked about the importance of social media, including Twitter, in raising reporter's profiles and how it's not just to be used to market a publication.
